The development of zero carbon buildings is one of the effective ways to achieve the strategic goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. There are extensive research on zero carbon buildings around the world, but it has not yet formed a unified zero carbon building definition and technology path. At present, the domestic zero carbon building application cases are mainly new buildings, but few existing buildings, which is mainly due to many limited factors for existing buildings renovation, such as site environment, climate resource conditions, building structure safety, and special use function requirements of buildings. The determination of zero carbon renovation technology path for existing buildings is more complicated than that for new buildings. Therefore, it is urgent to carry out research and exploration on the zero carbon renovation technology path for existing buildings. Taking an electric power production office building in Shenzhen as an example, this paper puts forward the research method of “diagnosis and evaluation, scheme planning, scheme design, effect evaluation” for the nearly zero carbon building renovation technology path, and applies it to the diagnosis and evaluation of the project status, determination of renovation goals and technology paths, scheme design of nearly zero carbon renovation and effect evaluation. This paper proposes the nearly zero carbon renovation technology path of existing power production office buildings in hot summer and warm winter zone, which can provide a useful reference for nearly zero carbon renovation of existing office buildings in hot summer and warm winter zone.
